P7.2 have been exploring scale and how it used in real life. We created 3D models from scale drawings and reduced simple objects to scale drawings in our jotters .
We applied what we had learned by using scales on maps to discover how big our local area, city and country actually is. We went ‘travelling’ to areas of our choice to work out how far away they were.
We have explored scale on a variety of maps. To challenge ourselves, we used a more complex scale on an Ordnance survey map. We worked out how far landmarks in Glasgow were from where we lived. For example, how far away the SSE Hydro was from our house.
