Today in the Pond the two year olds were making the most of the sunshine in the garden. With this being Maths Week Scotland we decided to explore shapes and patterns whilst still getting messy and having lots of fun.<\/p>\n

We got some paint trays and rolled our toy cars in the paint! We then rolled them on a large piece of paper to see what patterns we could make with the tracks!<\/p>\n

We then decided to roll or cars down a ramp and onto the paper to see if the patterns were different!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very fast!\u201d<\/p>\n

This activity helps to develop the children\u2019s fine and gross motor skills whilst exploring colour and pattern.<\/p>\n

The children then decided they wanted to dip the wooden shapes in the paint and stamp them on to the paper!<\/p>\n

\u201cA yellow square and a red triangle!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dIt’s a rainbow!\u201d<\/p>\n

The children showed great imagination, creating lovely pictures!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In the Pond it\u2019s the messier the better so there was some colour mixing going on too!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m rubbing them together to make purple!! Look!\u201d<\/p>\n

What a great morning we had exploring patterns, shapes and colours in a fun, engaging and creative way!<\/p>\n
