<\/a><\/p>\nWhen we arrived at our site we remembered all the hazards we had chatted about last week and were able to carry out our own risk assessment and set our boundaries.<\/p>\n
Bug hunting has been a real area of interest and we have been doing lots of research on bugs. \u00a0What better place to search for \u201creal\u201d bugs than in our forest! \u00a0Off we set with our magnifying glasses \ud83d\udd0d. \u00a0It was so much fun to search under logs, on trees and even in the mud to see what we could find!<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a C for my name\u201d.<\/p>\n “Look it\u2019s crawling on my arm!\u201d<\/p>\n Of course as it was so wet we decided our bugs would need a bug house! After lots of discussion we collected our building materials. Working together we built a \u201csuper special\u201d house for our bug family. “This stone is big. \u00a0They can sit or sleep on it.\u201d<\/p>\n “This can be the food. They might be hungry. \u00a0I\u2019m hungry, when can we have snack?\u201d<\/p>\n After a quick snack and a wee recharge we noticed the sun had appeared! Off we set to find some sticks! This sparked an impromptu game of forest “freeze” and “unfreeze” using our \u201cHarry Potter wands\u201d while “Harry Potter” himself flew above us on his “broomstick” along with \u201ca flying car that goes invisible\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m Harry Potter flying on my broomstick\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201dI\u2019m flying. \u00a0I\u2019m in a flying car. I can spread my wings and fly over you\u201d.<\/p>\n Before we left we had a wonderful mindful moment, sparked entirely by a cry of \u201cstop talking and listen\u201d. \u201cI can hear the birds. \u00a0They\u2019re making a woo hoo sound\u201d. \u00a0\u201cI can hear the wind blowing through the trees\u201d. \u00a0We even spotted a pigeons nest high up in the trees.<\/p>\n Our tired legs got us back to Cart Mill safely, even spotting a number sign along the way.<\/p>\n \u201cIt says 20\u201d.<\/p>\n This week we have been navigators, explorers, bug hunters, builders, flying cars and our favourite of all, Harry Potter! \nWe were amazed to find \u201csammy snail\u201d, \u00a0\u201csuper slug\u201d, \u201ccolin\u201d who was a millipede and a whole family of woodlouse! Who knew we would find a baby worm that \u201clooks like an angry eyeball\u201d. Dr Doolittle had better watch out! \ud83d\udc1b<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
