In our story corner today we have been discussing \u00a0books we have \u00a0at home and took great delight in sharing our favourites with our friends. \u00a0We couldn\u2019t decide which was our overall favourite, so we voted by raising our hands and then counting to see which story had the most votes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our winner was \u2026\u2026. The Gruffalo!<\/p>\n

Lots of exciting discussion followed and we were able to name the Mouse and the Gruffalo as the main characters, and remember which animals the mouse met on his walk through \u201cthe deep, dark wood!\u201d. \u00a0We decided we wouldn\u2019t like to walk in the \u201cdeep, dark wood cos it might be a wee bit scary\u201d, but \u201cmaybe we could take a torch and it wouldn\u2019t be scary anymore!\u201d<\/p>\n

It was so exciting to choose which character we would like to be. \u00a0Listening very carefully, we were able to take turns and use our story \u00a0spoons to predict which character the Mouse would meet next! \u00a0Some of us demonstrated we know the Gruffalo really well by joining in with repeated phrases, \u201coh help, oh no, it\u2019s a Gruffalo!\u201d being a firm favourite! To challenge ourselves further, we even added in some sound effects and actions!

\n\u201cThe snake goes sssssssss\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dOwl goes toowittoowoo\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dlook I\u2019ve got terrible teeth and I\u2019ve got big claws\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dhis prickles were purple\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dhis eyes are orange, mines are brown.\u201d<\/p>\n

Using a thumbs up, thumbs to the side and thumbs down, we shared our likes and dislikes of each character and then decided we would like to swap our spoons and read the story again! (Repeated at least 5 times!)<\/p>\n
