Today at the malleable table the children chose to make gloop . They each had their own tray and took turns to add the ingredients; cornflour and water. The children used their hands\u00a0 <\/span>to mix the ingredients together till the gloop was ready.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMine is too thick I need some more water\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMine is watery so I need more cornflour\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The children then began to explore the gloop\u00a0 <\/span>using their hands\u00a0 <\/span>and fingers discussing the different the textures they could feel.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s sticky\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMine is all gooey\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am going to add more water to make it slime\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMines is so soft\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI like the feeling\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt looks like milk\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI made a line and it disappeared\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u00a0longer the children \u00a0explored they became intrigued\u00a0why\u00a0<\/span>it was hard to touch but then when running through their fingers it changes textures and turns into liquid when picking it up. The children continued exploring the gloop and talking about the feeling of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWater makes it loosen\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLook it\u2019s running through my hands\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy handprint has just gone\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHard and then it\u2019s just runs\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s melting\u201d<\/p>\n
