We were so excited at Cart Mill today as it was our first day back at Forest School! It was time for us to put on our special Forest School suits and wellies and head off on our adventure!
\nIt was so important to listen to Val and Fiona and we knew to \u201cstop, listen and look for cars\u201d before we crossed the road.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As we walked along the path, we could see and hear the river! Val told us it goes all the way past our Forest School and that it\u2019s called the River Cart, \u201csame as Cart Mill!\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There are lots of hazards we need to look out for when we are at the Forest. We learned that hazards might be \u201cdangerous if we touch them\u201d. We spotted nettles, barred wire, an old fire pit and some glass, so we made sure we were very careful!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It was so \u201cso exciting\u201d to arrive at our site. \u00a0There was a huge mountain, so we decided to challenge ourselves to see if we could \u201crace up to the top\u201d. It was \u201ca wee bit tricky\u201d, but we were soon expert \u201cmountain climbers!\u201d The river looked so far away from the top and it was \u201cso fun\u201d to \u201crun really fast\u201d and \u201croly poly\u201d back down.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Being a mountain climber is such hard work, so it was time for us to \u201chave a wee rest\u201d and a snack!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There was just enough time to explore the river before we headed back to Cart Mill for lunch!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It was difficult to decide what our favourite part of Forest School was today..<\/p>\n

\u201dI liked climbing the mountain\u201d, \u201cI like throwing stones in the river\u201d, we ran really fast down the hill, it was fun\u201d, \u201cI liked everything\u201d.<\/p>\n

Phew, what a busy, fun, exciting first day in the Forest, \u201cwhen can we come back!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best classroom and the richest cupboard is roofed only by the sky\u201d . (McMillan, 1925).<\/p>\n
