Today the children were ready to get to work at the Tinker Table . We read our new safety rule book which we all helped to create last week. This is to ensure we are keeping ourselves and others safe.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c I can get the goggles on myself\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201dSafety First\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201d I helped make this book\u201d<\/p>\n

The children took turns and selected different types of wood in all shapes and sizes. They discussed what they were going to do \u00a0and as we had been reading No Such Things as Nessie for Scotland book week all the children were excited to create their own Loch Ness Monster . We then \u00a0looked out the nails and hammer. They held the hammer firmly and using their hand and eye co-ordination to gentle hit the nail several times.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am making Nessie\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201dIt\u2019s a nice monster\u201d<\/p>\n

When the wood was nailed together the children then chose a variety of materials e.g. \u00a0 <\/span>buttons, corks, ribbon and sequence they could add to their creations.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c the buttons are \u00a0it\u2019s eyes\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201dThis its tail\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dI am going to make a funny one\u201d<\/p>\n

The children followed the safety rules well and had great concentration skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

They then proudly sat them on the display table<\/span><\/p>\n
