In a small group we started by singing songs and playing our chosen instrument together.\u00a0 We began to explore beat and tried to copy the beat played by Derek and follow along wile we sang. We all played beautifully and made an excellent band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cLet\u2019s do old MacDonald had a cat\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cSing twinkle twinkle\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/C645FF93-9C50-4D29-866E-ECDD9373CC5C.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21925\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/C645FF93-9C50-4D29-866E-ECDD9373CC5C-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">We then explored how to use the instruments to make different sounds. We had \u201cit\u2019s time to go to bed song\u201d,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cThe snake in the hat song\u201d and the \u201cbumped the head song\u201d. \u00a0They were superb!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/599A4C65-5067-4169-96EB-D1C987330EBC.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21922\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/599A4C65-5067-4169-96EB-D1C987330EBC-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">We all demonstrated good turn taking and swapped our instruments \u00a0in the group so that everyone got a turn at playing something different.
