These games are designed to encourage colour recognition, sorting and team work.<br \/>\nWe started by playing a game of beans to warm up our bodies. In this game the children have to act out the name of the bean e.g. runner beans= running on the spot. We particularly enjoyed pretending to be French beans and calling out \u201cOooh la la\u201d \ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddf7\ud83d\ude04<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/DC46E77A-5BDD-40E7-8DA0-AB1E8D405722.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21796\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/DC46E77A-5BDD-40E7-8DA0-AB1E8D405722-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After our warm up, we played a game of pirate\u2019s treasure where we pretend the coloured balls are gems and we have to take them from treasure island and put them in to the corresponding coloured treasure chest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/503CA37A-D934-4549-8621-7076264025BB.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21798\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/503CA37A-D934-4549-8621-7076264025BB-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then we played a colours game where the children run around and, when I shout a colour, they have to pick up the coloured ball as fast as they can.<\/p>\n<p>After this we went completely off script as the children decided they would like to make up their own games. Here are the games we have now added to our repertoire;<\/p>\n<p>Ball tig &#8211; the children run around holding the ball and when the chaser tigs you, you have to drop your ball and can\u2019t move until a friend returns the ball to your hand.<\/p>\n<p>Freeze and go- holding up the green ball means you can run around, holding up the blue ball means you have to freeze<\/p>\n<p>Throw and go- holding up the green ball means you can run around and holding up the pink ball means you have to pick up a ball and throw it up to the sky.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/DBAFF9FC-4908-4E73-8849-87A2FBE74132.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21799\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/08\/DBAFF9FC-4908-4E73-8849-87A2FBE74132-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nA great fun morning with brilliant team work and creativity from the children.
