Today at Cart Mill family centre the children discovered wild raspberries on their nature walk. They talked about what other fruits grow wild in Scotland\u201d I found strawberries when I was on holiday , they were really sweet\u201d \u201c I like finding brambles on a walk they are big \u00a0purple and juicy \u201d \u00a0They collected the raspberries \u00a0and decided \u00a0to make them into yummy muffins.<\/p>\n

The children looked up a muffin recipe in a baking book and decided what ingredients they would need. \u201cWe need flour sugar milk and baking powder to make them rise\u201d \u201clet\u2019s wash our raspberries so they are clean \u201c\u201cWe will need scales to weigh out our ingredients \u201c \u201c The children were able to name and weigh out their ingredients waiting patiently on their turn.<\/p>\n

\u201c I need 150 grams of flour\u201d It\u2019s not sticky enough you need more milk\u201d \u201c I need to put in two tablespoons of sugar \u201c<\/p>\n

\nThe children used lots of descriptive language whilst making their muffins. \u00a0They are looking forward to tasting them at home , well done everyone.<\/p>\n
