We have been learning about the difference in textures between clay and playdough, as well as the difference between wet and dry clay. So, today we took our learning one step further to investigate what we can make, by adding loose parts to our clay station.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/06\/73D696A4-2FE7-4947-92D4-B9E21CE23B28-rotated.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21384\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/06\/73D696A4-2FE7-4947-92D4-B9E21CE23B28-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nWe added some buttons, wooden sticks, paper straws, corks and our clay tools and markers as a invitation to spark the creative minds of our early learners.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/06\/D279524B-1933-41D3-878D-BB0EF7DBB5B4.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21385\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/06\/D279524B-1933-41D3-878D-BB0EF7DBB5B4-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We used our gross motor skills to roll out the clay, using the large rolling pins. We even tried using the other end of the rolling pin to make marks and indents into the clay.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/06\/FF5A4053-DD9E-414C-8A66-E5EC5DA12536-rotated.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21386\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/06\/FF5A4053-DD9E-414C-8A66-E5EC5DA12536-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nSome of us used the clay hammers to create marks or flatten the clay to make it more malleable.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/06\/9E3D83B9-DFC3-4BE2-BEEF-6D139B378C05-rotated.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21387\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/cartmill\/files\/2022\/06\/9E3D83B9-DFC3-4BE2-BEEF-6D139B378C05-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We each selected the loose parts we wanted and got to work creating our model, and look what we created!
