Getting to know Sami

Hi everyone, Sami here! Time to share some things about me that you may not know 🙂 It’s been so nice reading everyone’s blogs. I’ve even learned some new things I didn’t know before!

During lockdown I have been painting feature walls galore, and upcycling all of my old furniture in my flat. I am missing my Friday night sewing dates I usually have at my Mum’s, so it’s been good getting creative in other ways. Although now that she has two new puppies, I think sewing date Friday’s may be a little tricky 🙂

My Mum got married in Australia to Gordon, who was her best friend in school. I even had the pleasure of walking her down the aisle. They are real life soulmates!

My Mum and I are like best pals and I am so blessed to have the relationship with her that I do. A lot of people think we look alike, do you think we do?

I also have a big brother Paul. We were always very close growing up. He even used to practice WWF wrestling moves on me!! Ironically, he has always been very protective of me 🙂  And we are still very close as adults 🙂

I love staying fit and trying to make exercising fun like hill walking, and have done the Race for Life the last few years too with my family. I will miss it this year, but am setting myself the challenge to run the 10k anyway on my own… Pray for Sami!

I have also attended a Mindfulness class for the past 3 years, and it has helped me lots during this time as it focuses on meditation and being present in the moment. For anyone who may find this helpful, the man who runs the class has made the facebook page public so that people can try and get a taste of mindfulness in the comfort of their own home. The facebook page is “Martin Stepek’s Ten for Zen.” I hope it helps you as much as it helps me!

Above all I am missing my family tremendously, and all my little friends too. Can’t wait to see everyone again when it’s safe to do so! Take care everyone 🙂 Sami xx

All about SJ!

Hi everyone! Sarah-Jane here, here is a little blog with some things about me that you might not know!

I am 25 years old and have worked at Cart Mill for 2 and a half years now. I live at home in Park House with my mum, my dad and my little dog Lola. I have been with my boyfriend Graeme for about 10 months now. I grew up in Southpark Village and then Darnley and I went to Darnley Primary and Hillpark Secondary. I enjoy going out for meals and going on nights out with my friends.

I used to dance and figure skate when I was younger. I started dancing when I was 2 and a half and did it for 14 years and figure skating for 2 years. I have many trophies and medals for dancing doing ballet, tap, disco, modern and jazz. I also used to play football and trained with a top team in Scotland’s girls football for a while.

I have a Maltese dog called Lola, she is 2 years old in September and I love her so much. She makes me smile with her cheeky antics and she gives the best cuddles!

I particularly like to drive to Luss, which is near Loch Lomond when the weather is nice and go for a long walk, it is one of my favourite places to take a drive to.

My favourite thing to do is watch the football. I have had a season ticket for my favourite football team since I was 2 and I go with my mum and dad.  I have even been to countries such as Poland, Germany and Holland to watch them.

I love watching tv, probably a little too much! Some of my favourite programmes include Friends, Gavin and Stacey, Match of the Day and Love Island – I’m a little obsessed with reality tv!

I also love music, I couldn’t even begin to chose a favourite but I enjoy listening to Oasis, JLS, Take That and Olly Murs, quite a random mix of music, haha!

I love to go on holiday, a lot of people say I’m a bit of a sun worshiper. My favourite place to go on holiday is Florida, I love all things Disney! I really am a big kid at heart.. The next place I’d like to go on holiday when it is safe is Cancun, in Mexico, which is where my boyfriend and I plan to go next year, when it is safe to do so!

I miss all of you so much, and I can’t wait to see you all again, hopefully soon! But most importantly when it is safe to be back in Cart Mill together. I hope you are all having fun whatever you are all getting up to during this unprecedented time and making the most of the time we have with our families.

Stay safe everyone.. xx
