Fun Friday!

As today was our last day with our children attending the hub, we decided it should be Fun Friday!

The children chose some of their favourite activities. We started with choosing different materials to make some beautiful artwork.

We made beautiful patterns in our play dough and managed a bit of climbing too!

We demonstrated fabulous numeracy skills and turn taking while using our interactive board.

The horrible weather didn’t stop us having lots of fun in our garden.
We investigated making special potions using different colours of paint. We demonstrated lots of fabulous pouring, mixing and measuring and of course we had to add a little sparkle!

With a bit of teamwork, we constructed our obstacle course. Even though it was a little bit windy, we managed some brilliant balancing!

We demonstrated excellent ball control, teamwork and sharing during our game of football.

We decided we needed a little rest so we headed inside for a tasty snack.

We decided to relax with a little yoga!

Of course we had to fit in some fabulous dancing before it was time to go home.

Phew what a busy day. It really was a fun Friday!

We have loved getting to know the amazing children attending our hub. We have  had lots of fun and made lots of new friends.
Take care and we will miss you lots. Xx

Sensory Fun 🙂

In the nursery today the children explored and developed their fine motor skills and science through colour mixing.

We were mixing colours and mark making using our fingers. ‘ It feels squishy’  ‘ I made brown by mixing red and yellow’

Making clouds of soap for bath time.

We talked about changing matter and used lots of descriptive language.

‘I like how it feels’  ‘It feels soft’ ‘It’s a bit slimy’

Mark making with Ice paints

🧊 🧊 🧊 🧊 🧊 🧊 🧊

The children in the nursery have been busy exploring ways to mark make using a variety of media and techniques.

We decided to make our own ice paints.

We took turns to fill an ice cube tray with water.

Adding a small drop of food colouring or paint.

We found some lollipop sticks and added them to the tray.

Carefully we took the ice cube tray to the freezer and left them overnight to freeze.

The next day the coloured water had changed to ice!

We popped the ice paints out the tray with a little help from the ladies.

All the children enjoyed making marks on our paper using the ice paints.

“I have made zig zags in green”

“I’m drawing me”

”it’s an orange circle”

The children continued to enjoy developing their mark making skills outdoors……

In a beautiful blank canvas of snow.

Play dough with a twist!

This morning the boys and girls had lots of fun working together to make some delicious strawberry scented angel delight play dough.

  1. First we poured in the angel delight ingredients

  1. The added a cup full of water

  2. And a cup of cornflour

  1. Then we use our gross motor skills to mix mix mix

As you can see the boys and girls showed great turn taking skills.

Here is our finished product, the boys and girls were very happy with it, we had fun rolling, squeezing, flattening and poking the play dough. We also used natural resources to create patterns using our fine motor and co ordination skills.

“I’ve made a pattern, it goes shell then pine cone then shell”
