Christmas Eve Message from Sharon, Head Teacher

Dear Parents/Carers

I would like to wish all of our families and friends a Merry Christmas and I hope that Santa is good to our children.  We have had a challenging year but we have made it through with your continued support.  I must thank you for the huge amount of Foodbank donations, donations to our charities and for the lovely gifts you have very kindly given us.

I hope that you have a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year with your family and loved ones until we open again to welcome you back on Wednesday 5th January 2022.

Kindest wishes

Sharon McKenna

Christmas Concerts

The children were amazing today performing for the parents and family members who had come along to watch in our garden.

We loved having the ponies, Annabelle and Eddie to join us.

The children got the chance to feed them and their favourite snack is carrots.

The children give us year-round joy and it was so lovely to have our parents and families here with us today to share in that joy.

Ahoy ship!

The children in the Studio today created a fantastic story which started with a cardboard box .

The cardboard box became a boat and then the sea was added using a blue piece of material.

Pink material was wrapped around and suddenly there was a fish in the sea with the boat.  Then some brightly coloured mermaids joined  the gathering.

Next a crab with great big claws came to join the sea travellers.

The fish, mermaids and crab danced around the ship and the ship’s captain shouted “Ahoy ship!” and the fish said “We are swimming to America!”

The children’s role play recorded in this observation was truly creative.  They used the materials around them creatively, they worked as a team to tell the imaginative story and they directed each other’s movements like actors in a play.

“Play is the highest form of research” said Albert Einstein and we can’t agree more.

Cosy Winter Clothes

As we are now entering a colder period of weather and that we need to keep windows open for ventilation, the children do need warm clothing.  Please can children come with a cosy jumper or a fleece to keep them warm indoors as well as when they go outside with their jacket on.  Please also pop gloves and a cosy hat in your child’s bag so that they can have this when they need it.
