Helicopter stories

The children in the discovery room have been using their Imagination and creating their own short stories to read.

Helicopter stories are a great way for the children to dictate their own stories and the adult scribe word for word what the children say.

Here is a few short stories from this week …..

The children were the illustrator and the author of their own stories and now the books are out for everyone to read with their friends in the playroom.

Why not have a go in the house, we would like to hear all your stories!

Toddlers – Water in the Sun and Rain

The toddlers have been learning about all the different ways to use water. As the weather was so warm and sunny the pool came out. This was very exciting. We filled the pool and then put some bubbles in. The  children mastered some new skills getting changed into their swimming costumes. We then took turns to step into the pool. We had pouring and filling toys and a lot of splashing.

We have displayed the photos of the pool day in our centre and in our floorbook so that parents and carers can see them privately.

When the rain came we discovered we could turn the puddles into different colours. We explored what happens when you add chalk to a puddle or add water to it. The children thought we can make all the puddles different colours and chose what colour of chalk they
would like. It looks like a 🌈 rainbow.
