Looking after ourselves has never been more important than right now. The ‘new normal’ has changed the way we live and work. We are all missing our families, friends and colleagues. We are using words like ‘Covid19’, ‘lockdown’ and ‘social distancing’ at a time when we all need comfort the most.
Lockdown has affected every single one of us, albeit in different ways. It has taken a toll on our physical and mental health. At times the emotional challenge of coping in a crisis can be just as difficult as coping with the practicalities of everyday life. Lockdown can be exhausting and most definitely has an impact on our health and well-being.
The theme of Mental Health Awareness Week is kindness and looking our for each other. With that in mind, there is a lot of support out there for people who are finding life a struggle and who just need a helping hand. No-one should suffer in silence and it’s important to know that you are never alone.
Kindness costs nothing but means everything.

I know like me you will be thinking about how this current situation is affecting our children’s mental health. This is a really helpful poster which will help reassure you that just by being there for your children, by listening to them and playing with them, we are supporting their mental health.
