With St Andrews day fast approaching the children in the toddler room are continuing to celebrate all things Scottish! They are enjoying singing Scottish songs and listening to Scottish music.
Today we were talking about the Scottish flag and what colours it is made up of. Inspiring the children to make blue play dough which they then used to create their own Scotland flag!
We were also discussing tartan, which the children knew was used to make Scottish kilts. The children created their own tartan patterns using shower puffs dipped in paint to make colourful backgrounds and then they then used toy cars dipped in paint to create the lines. The children created very effective tartan prints and had great messy fun!! They are going to stick their tartans together to create one big kilt when they are dry!
