Children have been exploring clay in the studio since last week. They have been intrigued to explore clay’s texture. Children learned to squeeze, roll, pull and push the clay which helps develops their large and small muscles. Clay has numerous benefits for children’s development for example; playing with clay fosters eye-hand coordination, builds attention span, builds vocabulary – pound pinch, roll, poke, stretch and so on. Children also beginning to tell stories with clay pieces.
We worked with ropes today. Wrapping them round trees, making knots and we made a swing!
