Today pupils participated in the Onesie Walk in our local community. They all looked wonderful and marched off in style into the frosty afternoon. Well done to all who took part!

P6/7 have started looking at a new science topic of Light. Today, we were testing whether different items were light reflectors or light sources. We defined light as a form of energy that enables us to see. Reflection is when light bounces off of other objects.
In this picture we were testing whether aluminum foil was a light reflector or light source.
Last week in P6/7 we tested the buoynacy and density of our boats. The boys and girls had the challenge to create their own boats from only a certain range of resources. They also had a budget to keep to. The children had to use their mathematical skills to decide how much material they were able to use.
Overall, the boats were absolutely fantastic and all boats were able to float when placed in water. Well done P6/7 – the density and buoyancy challenge is complete!
Today we were learning to display organise and analyse data in a appropriate graph through the use of technology. We used excel to make a compound bar graph.
We have been learning about buoyancy and density in science. Yesterday, we were applying our knowledge of buoyancy and density to a practical challenge. We were designing and constructing a boat that takes into account factors such as buoyancy, the properties of materials and design contraints. Let the challenge begin…
