P2 Healthy Eating Homework

Primary 2 have been learning about healthy eating habits in their Health & Wellbeing lessons. They have been exploring foods and food groups, as well as discussing their food likes and dislikes.

Here is a link to the Food: A Fact for Life website, which has some healthy recipes for pupils to try at home – just scroll to the bottom of the page for the .pdf files.

Once you have tried one, or maybe more, of the recipes remember to complete the Microsoft Form below and let us know what you thought of the recipe(s).

Healthy Eating Habits

We have been learning about healthy eating habits this week. We have identified the need for breakfast in the morning and meals spread throughout the day. We discussed how our bodies feel tired and we feel sad or grumpy when we are hungry. However, we like to feel full of energy and happy after we eat.

Here is a little survey to complete:

The Force Awakens…….. for STEM Week!

STEM Week was launched with full force this morning, unveiling this years theme………….Star Wars!

At our whole school assembly, Mrs McLean introduced the theme and the various challenges for the week.  The pupils were played a video message from Darth Vader and were surprised by a visit from two of the movies characters.

Baboon on the Moon

We have been using the Screening Shorts film ‘Baboon on the Moon’ for our reading this week. We listened to the film without a picture and made notes of all the sounds we heard. We then used these sounds to piece together the events of the story. We even managed to guess that the character was sad because of the sounds!

all the sounds we heard
Baboon brushing his teeth
Baboon lights up the moon
Baboon playing his trumpet sadly

Learning Workshop

Thank you to all parents/carers who attended our P2 class workshop this morning.  We had great fun showing you a number of our multi-sensory spelling activities.  The boys and girls loved having you in to visit us!
