There are only 5 mental maths questions to complete on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and no active spelling on Thursday. This will allow children to spend some time on their research project. Children only need to focus on one aspect of Ancient Egypt that they have learned about i.e. mummies, pharaohs, pyramids etc, or if they wish to do more (which I think a lot of children are keen to do) they can!

This week we have been comparing houses found in Ancient Egypt with our own houses by looking at some pictures and designing our own Egyptian houses. The children constructed the area of a rich Egyptian villa using cardboard, straws, modelling dough and other craft and construction materials. The children worked in groups and then presented the different aspects of their villas to the other groups.
