Gerry the Lollypop Man came to our class and read us a story to help us celebrate World Book Day. We really enjoyed his visit. Primary 4 visited us with their favourite books and every child paired up and primary 1 listened to them reading. Both classes found this a valuable learning experience and hope to do it again soon.
Science – Materials
In Science we were investigating different materials. Teddy asked us to help him with a problem. He needed a waterproof hat and tested different materials to find out which was best. After a fair test we decided that plastic was the best material for his hat. We all designed and made him a plastic, waterproof hat.

Mr. Men Party
In Literacy we have been learning to write a list for our class party. We had to choose 7 children from our class and our favourite Mr. Men character for our guest list.
We had to use bullet points and organise under a title. We know that proper names begin with a capital letter. Ruby successfully created her party list.
We will be able to use these skills when we organise another event.

Story Sequencing
Harvey sequenced this story in the correct order. He selected one sentence from the story to copy and then wrote his own sentences to complete the story.
Bar graph
We have been learning to gather data using tally marks. We sorted the cubes by colours and recorded the information on a table. We then showed this information using a bar graph.
Rebecca successfully collected and displayed the data. Collecting data is a skill we will use in our future learning.
