Our Primary 4 class have had a great start to the year learning about the environment and how to live sustainably. We have learned how to keep our planet free from plastic and have planted some beetroot seeds which we hope to cook with when they are ready. As you can see from the pictures, we had great fun doing this and have already got some successful shoots growing up out of the soil.
Primary 3 have been learning about the ancient civilisation the Egyptians.
We have been using our research skills to find out about people from the past using artefacts, reference texts and websites.
We have discovered a lot of facts about the ancient Egyptians and discussed similaries and differences.
As part of our reading we have been exploring facts and opinions.
A fact is something which can be proven wheras an opinion is how you feel and it can change.
We created fact and opinion boards to present our learning. We asked our peers to identify which statements were facts and which were opinions.
Fact
The ancient Egyptians made paper from the paypyrus plant.
Opinion
The pyramids are the most beautiful buildings.
Maisie
Primary 1a and 1b are exploring their local environment. We went on an Autumn walk to Arthurlie House.
We used our senses to look, gather and smell signs of Autumn. We took bark rubbings and collected treasures to take back to class.
