Line and Shade-Penguin Parade

Today, we developed our art skills and used pencil, charcoal and pastels to create our penguin parade drawings.

First we analysed penguins form and identified  shapes. We agreed that the penguins body looked like a bowling pin or a rounded triangle.

We drew the outline  of our penguin sfirst and then we used charcoal to shade with.  Shading gave depth to our penguins and made them look more realistic.

We then used oil pastels for our background. We used cold colours to represent the cold conditions of Antarctica.
