Today we created our class charter and explored the Rights of the Child. Together, we were able to identify more than ten rights every child has and we discussed how these rights are promoted within our class and school. We then selected the 6 that we felt were particularly important within school.
The right to:
be safe
education
a voice
equality
play
healthy
Next we used a piority pyramid to decide which we thought were the most important. We discussed why we thought a particular right was the most important. Quite a lot of us selected safe as the most important however others identified equality and education. We discussed just how important and connected all of the rights are. We realised that during the task we had all been respecting our right to a voice and to be listened to.®
We created helping hands displaying the 6 rights and our order of importance. We are going to continue to ensure everyone’s rights are respected.
