Scottish SPCA Visit

scottishspca

Today the SSPCA came to visit our school. In our class, Amy who works for them came to talk to us about the work that the SSPCA does. We learned how they rescue animals who have been abandoned or have not been cared for properly, and how the SSPCA tries to find them a new home. We then played a game which taught us about different animals that you might find in Scotland and around the world.

Tennis: Ball Control

Tennis Ball Control Rallys 1.12.15

Over the last few weeks we have been developing our ball control skills through different tennis related activities. Today we were progressing those skills by playing rally games with a partner on a small tennis court. This required us to use our ball control and movement skills, as well as polishing our forehand stroke.

Growing Potatoes

At the beginning of the year we were learning about what plants need in order to grow and develop.  As part of this we started to grow potatoes in our classroom and have been looking after them over the last three months.

Unfortunately, even though they were doing really well, they recently started to die. We think this may have been from overheating, as we had our planter right beside a large radiator. When we dug up our plants we did find some very small potatoes, but not many.
