Polygon Patterns
First we used compasses to draw a circle. We put points on the circle and then connecting them with lines. We kept on doing this until we got a nice polygon pattern with different shapes for example, dodecagons, decagons, nonagons, hexagons, pentagons, squares and triangles. Most of them turned out great
Gymnastics
In gymnastics, our class were able to do the vault, climb the rope and do floor work.
Robot Collage
In class, we made robots made from different and random materials. We though about texture and colours when making these.
Robot Printing
During Art we used straws to create a printing block. First we drew our design. Next we glued straws onto the drawing. Then we rolled on ink and made prints.
Inheritance
As part of our transition to high school we learned about chromosomes and DNA. We know that our family can carry genes that they don’t use but can pass to their children. We investigated how this would work on fictional characters called Reebops. We chose alleles without looking so it was up to chance. That’s how we created our Reebop babies.
During our visit to high school we used gel electrophoresis to identify a wizard’s magical genes.

Lockerbie Manor
Many of the P7 children spent 7th to the 11th November on an outward bound activity-filled trip to Lockerbie Manor. The children had opportunities to take part in a wide variety of activities. The photos below will give you a flavour of what they got up to.
Circle Art
In art we used our maths skills – we have been working on compass work. We drew circles with the compasses and created patterns. We had a choice of working in pairs or on our own. It was really fun, I’m sure everyone enjoyed it. We used different techniques to draw different patterns. Some people are trying out new patterns to do.
