Refuweegee (ref-u-wee-gee) is a Glasgow-based charity set up in 2015 to provide a warm welcome to forcibly displaced people arriving in the city. To this date, they have provided over\u00a0<\/strong>10,000\u00a0community-built, personal welcome packs and emergency support packs to people all over Glasgow and across Scotland.<\/p>\n

Williamwood\u2019s Refugee Ambassador group are supporting the Science Department in a whole school donation drive for this charity, much in need now more than ever.<\/p>\n

The charity are in need of the following:<\/p>\n

– Non-perishable foods (rice, pasta, tea, coffee, UHT milk, tinned tomatoes, vegetarian soup, beans, tinned vegetables, pasta sauce, tuna, biscuits, juice etc.).<\/p>\n

– Toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, soap, nappies, toilet roll, toothbrush & toothpaste, deodorant & sanitary or shaving items)<\/p>\n

– Stationary<\/p>\n

– Rucksacks<\/p>\n

– Hat, gloves & scarf (2 of the 3 would be ideal)<\/p>\n

– Something to read – varying reading abilities so all books are acceptable. Please do consider the content though. Books don’t need to be brand new.<\/p>\n

– Colouring books<\/p>\n

– Jigsaws<\/p>\n

– Board games<\/p>\n

– Toys that are clean, in full working order with all parts present.<\/p>\n
