{"id":24874,"date":"2020-01-30T10:42:00","date_gmt":"2020-01-30T09:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/Williamwood\/?p=24874"},"modified":"2020-01-30T10:44:33","modified_gmt":"2020-01-30T09:44:33","slug":"parental-involvement-act-2006","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/Williamwood\/2020\/01\/parental-involvement-act-2006\/","title":{"rendered":"Parental Involvement Act 2006"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial\">The Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006 sets out the role parents, schools and education authorities must play in ensuring all parents are fully involved and engaged in their children\u2019s learning and in the life and work of our schools. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial\">The Scottish Government made a commitment to update, strengthen and modernise the guidance as part of its joint Scottish Government \/ Convention of Scottish Local Authorities \u201cLearning Together\u201d Action Plan. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>They<span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial\"> are now seeking the views of a wider audience to refine the updated guidance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>They<span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial\"> are running a full public consultation on the draft updated guidance, from Friday 24 January 2020 until Thursday 30 April 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>They<span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"> would be grateful if you can complete the consultation questionnaire on the refreshed guidance which can be accessed <a href=\"https:\/\/consult.gov.scot\/learning-directorate\/parental-involvement-act\/\">here<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Scottish Government is<span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial\"> hoping to hear from anyone who has an interest in how parents can be fully involved and engaged in children\u2019s learning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">For more information on the public consultation and how you can be involved in this please contact: <a>parental.involvment@gov.scot<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006 sets out the role parents, schools and education authorities must play in ensuring all parents are fully involved and engaged in their children\u2019s learning and in the life and work of our schools.
