Pupil Achievement

Congratulations to Breanna DeLuca (S2) who has been selected for the Scottish National Development Squad for basketball.  She will be training throughout the winter with the squad in preparation for the 2020 U14 tournaments.  An amazing achievement.  Well done!

Netball

Williamwood Netball for S1 – S6 pupils will start back on Tuesday 27th August from 3.45 – 4.45 pm in Games Hall 1 & 2. All returning and new players are welcome. Further information from Mr Allan (Science).

Pupil Achievement

Congratulations to Severin (S6) who won silver medal at the British Junior Rowing Championships in a quad  . He also rowed for the winning junior boys Team Scotland at Home International Regatta beating the English, the Welsh and the Irish teams.  Well done!

 

Senior Sports Awards

Pupils who would like a sporting achievement for the past school year recognised at the senior* awards ceremony must contact Mr Madden in the P.E. department by Wednesday 21 August at the latest.  Please note, this includes only school-related achievements, such as district school, Scottish school competitions, etc.  All other sporting achievements are recognised via the existing sports colours system.

*The senior awards ceremony will recognise achievements for Mrs Sinclair’s current S5, Mrs Gibson’s current S6 and Miss Ferguson’s former S6 yeargroup.

Pupil Achievement

Congratulations to Reuben (S6 ) who competed in the Scottish Schools International against English, Welsh and Irish schools in Swansea on 20th July.  Reuben was selected to be a team captain of the Scottish boy’s team.  He also achieved gold in the pole vault, bronze in the 100m hurdles as well as being awarded the Scottish Male Athlete of the competition.  Reuben has also been selected to represent Scotland in the U20s home international in pole vault.  Well done Reuben!

 

 

Pupil Achievement

Congratulations to all senior pupils who completed their SQA exams this year.

Congratulations to Amy (S4) who achieved ten A grades in her SQA exams this year as she decided to focus on her examinations and postpone surgery for scoliosis.  Amy has since had successful surgery and is a talented ballerina who hopes to return to dancing soon.  Well done!
