Pupils who would like a sporting achievement for the past school year recognised at the senior* awards ceremony must contact Mr Madden in the P.E. department by Wednesday 21 August at the latest. Please note, this includes only school-related achievements, such as district school, Scottish school competitions, etc. All other sporting achievements are recognised via the existing sports colours system.
*The senior awards ceremony will recognise achievements for Mrs Sinclair’s current S5, Mrs Gibson’s current S6 and Miss Ferguson’s former S6 year groups.
Well done to all S2 pupils who participated in the English Department Dragons’ Den event on Friday 21st June. The young entrepreneurs were put through their paces by our three ‘Dragons’: Mr. Inglis, Mrs. Raeburn and Kirsty Hines –Mackay (actress and TV producer). Products ranged from a supersonic airline to a sports bag that cleans your clothes!
A special congratulations to Mrs. McKirdy and Miss MacRobert’s group on their victory with their product, ‘The Dough Bar’, a new take on the traditional round doughnut.
The cut-off date for Stevensons to guarantee braided blazers will be ready for the new term is Saturday 13 July 2019. Blazers handed in after this date cannot be guaranteed for the new term due to the volumes they receive from all of the schools. Any Blazers received after 13th July will be completed on a first-come-first-served basis.
Congratulations to Andrew (S6), Ross (S5) and Rory (S1) whose team finished first place at the British Schools Indoor Open Championship. Ross finished in 1st place for his category, Andrew 4th and Rory 7th. All three pupils have also now been invited to join the National Schools Snowsport Squad 2019/20 which is a huge achievement. Well done.
Congratulations to Ross (S6) who finished 3rd place in the under 18 category at GBR Indoor Race 3 on Saturday, finishing 5th place overall. Ross also competed at the Scottish Indoor Championships on Sunday and finished 2nd place in the under 18 category, finishing 4th place overall.
Congratulations to Reuben Nairne(S6)who has been selected to represent Scottish Schools in the SIAB International in Swansea. He will be competing in 100m hurdles and Pole Vault against English, Welsh and Irish athletes and has also been selected for the 4*100m relay.Well done!
Congratulations to all our pupils who participated in the Inter-Authority Athletics Championships today, representing East Renfrewshire. Qualification for this event involved finishing in a top-three position at the recent ER Championships, meaning an invitation to compete today was an achievement in itself. All S2 pupils and their parents/carers are reminded about tonight’s information evening regarding our potential Inter Milan football trip. The meeting will take place in the school at 6.15 pm and last approximately 30 minutes.

All (new) S4 National 5 P.E. pupils will complete a written component of their SQA course assessment during periods 1 and 2 on Wednesday 19 June. Pupils have been preparing for this assessment for some time and should aim to finalise their plans and draft answers by Wednesday 12 June at the latest, which will allow one week for studying. This component of the assessment is completed under full exam conditions (i.e. no notes are permitted). Details of accommodation for the assessment will be posted on the P.E. department noticeboards on Monday 17 June – please check this to ensure you arrive promptly.
