Pupil Achievement

Congratulations to Eve Ross and Mirin Cowey (S5) who were selected to join the ORBIT Youth Council in October. 18 young people, aged 16-18, were appointed to represent communities from across Scotland. ORBIT is dedicated to amplifying the voice of Scotlandʼs youth.  The Youth Council will be shaping a new programme of large-scale art projects in communities across Scotland. They will be at the helm of decision-making, guiding Jupiter Artland’s outreach work. Their aspiration for the young people who take part is that they gain a variety of skills and experiences which contribute to their education.  The Youth Council will spend the next ten months devising and delivering a pop-up happening in one of their communities. Throughout the process, Council members will be invited to explore three themes; Commerciality, Community and Connectivity. The young people will also be paired with a mentor from the Creative Industries who will help them to research possible career paths. They will take part in group tasks and visit galleries and collections across Scotland and farther afield.   Only 14 schools in the whole of Scotland are represented by the YouthWell done Eve and Mirin!
