Following previous, very successful excursions with Premiership Experience, we have been given the opportunity to secure tickets to take 44 pupils to the above Premiership fixture. The tickets will be offered to pupils in all year groups at a cost of £79 for the match ticket and travel. See Mr Cheshire (PE) for initial expressions of interest.

Charity Event
S6 are taking part in a charity event and donor registration for the Anthony Nolan organisation. We hope that as many S6 pupils as possible will get involved. More information here.
Pupil Achievement
Congratulations to Jennie Yang (S4) who has been selected to represent Scotland for the UK School Games, which will take place in Loughborough University 31 August – 3 September 2017. Jennie will compete in table tennis. This is the third year that Jennie has been selected for this prestigious event. Congratulations Jennie and good luck!
Williamwood Music Festival
The Williamwood Music Festival is on Tuesday 10 October and pupils are invited to audition for Junior or Senior categories. Auditions take place on the week beginning 4 September. Two distinguished musicians; John Cavanagh and Celine Donoghue, have agreed to adjudicate the festival.
The Performing Arts Department is keen to encourage musicians to audition for the festival that perform e.g., Folk, Rock, Blues, Jazz and Pipe music. The Festival is open to all pupils within the school, and you do not need to otherwise be involved in the Performing Arts Department to audition. Tickets will be available from the Performing Arts Department from the 18 September. Donations at the door.
Bronze Duke of Edinburgh
On Thursday 24 August, parents attended a meeting for the Bronze expedition for Duke of Edinburgh. A copy of the presentation, which contains the kit list, can be found here.

S1 Freshers’ Fair
On Wednesday afternoon, all pupils in S1 attended the annual Freshers’ Fair in The Street. Pupils had the opportunity to learn about the wide variety of clubs and activities available to them at Williamwood and they enjoyed chatting with senior pupils who assisted them in signing up. Well Pharmacy in Clarkston is looking for two part time Pharmacy Assistants. They are looking for people are who are friendly and organised with a passion for providing excellent customer service. Building relationships with your customers is key and you’ll play an important part in meeting their unique healthcare needs.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- ensuring the smooth running of the dispensary;
- dispensing medication effectively and safely;
- managing stock levels;
- be another expert for our customers to talk to, providing healthcare advice and services at the counter;
- you will also assist with sales and general store duties including product displays and cash transactions.

We are pleased to announce that all pupils who confirmed their interest in Tea in The Street today have secured a place on the programme. Those who did not confirm their interest today have the opportunity to engage in other intergenerational projects later in the year. Miss.
