The aim of the event is to allow girls to consider whether their skills might be suited to a career in areas such as construction, property, technology and engineering. They will hear from leading business women on their career journey within these sectors and take part in a structured networking session with industry representatives from companies including BAM, Taylor Wimpey and Miller Homes. In addition, pupils will be asked to participate in a CITB approved interactive workshop session.
The event is suited to girls with an interest in STEM subjects including maths, business, technology, geography. It is recognised within these sectors that there is a gender imbalance and industry leaders are keen to address this by expanding young people’s understanding of the range of opportunities in the sectors beyond the traditional stereotype.
