Congratulations to our S2 Netball team who made a fantastic start to their Scottish Schools’ Cup competition with a convincing 21 – 4 victory against Duncanrig Secondary.  Well done to Kirsty Robertson on her ‘MVP’ award!

Last week saw a very successful study skills evening for parents of S1- S3 pupils. The aim of this event was to help parents to support their children in preparing for class tests and assessments in the early stages of secondary school.  The workshops focused on simple study techniques such as mind mapping, the use of study cards, effective note-taking and literacy skills.  The workshops introduced parents to a range of online resources that pupils can use to assist them in their studies. A copy of the booklet issued to parents on the night can be found at  \\wwhm04\allstaf$\Development Team Admin\Study Skills Evening\BGE Study Skills Booklet.docx.

A number of our senior pupils are participating in a twenty four hour sponsored fast on Thursday 6 October.  All money raised will be donated to Mary’s Meals Malawi Crisis Appeal.  Malawians are facing their worst food crisis in years with an estimated 6.5million people facing potential starvation.  At present, Mary’s Meals feed over 880,000 children in Malawi and for many of those children this may be their only meal each day.  It costs just £12.20 to feed a Malawian pupil for the full year.

All money raised will be used directly to Mary’s Meals to help them increase the number of children that they are able to feed.  Donations can be handed in to the school office or you donate directly at  Please contact Mr McKenna should you require further information.
