An excellent opportunity has arisen for two hardworking and enthusiastic people to join Tennent Caledonian Breweries as Modern Apprentices. The successful candidates will work in the quality assurance team, based at Wellpark Brewery in Glasgow.
You will be employed on a 24 month contract and will work in a supported learning environment to develop the skills and knowledge which will assist you to complete a Level 3 Qualification in Life Sciences and Related Science Industries and progress in your future career. You will be based on-site at Wellpark Brewery 4 days per week and spend one day per week at Glasgow Kelvin College undertaking the SVQ to complete the Modern Apprenticeship.
You will be required to work in a busy multi-disciplinary laboratory, gaining practical experience of conducting various test procedures including chemical, microbiological and sensory analyses and testing of relevant samples and reporting on results to relevant stakeholders.
Apprentices will be expected to:
Committed to their own learning to enhance their skills and knowledge
Develop knowledge and skills to enhance the company workforce
Complete their qualification, and to make satisfactory progress throughout the course or in their apprenticeship placement
Attend all training events applicable to their apprenticeship
These roles would suit a school leaver who has a particular interest in Chemistry and Biology, or a college student completing a science related NC programme. Candidates must have a Glasgow postcode and be 18 years old or above on commencement of the apprenticeship in August 2016.
