Pupils in S2 were visited this week by Owl Magic as a part of the social subjects carousel activities. This enabled them to learn about the different habitats, threats to the owl population and the importance of conservation. Pupils also had the chance to hold the owls and thoroughly enjoyed their time with them. Pupils particularly enjoyed meeting a friendly barn owl called Cuddles. Unfortunately, changes in farm practices, climate change and urban sprawl are having a detrimental impact on these beautiful birds. Therefore, pupils will follow up this event by researching ways they can help conserve the barn owls in Scotland. More photos can be viewed here.
