Young Musician of the Year Competition 2015

Picture1This year’s Young Musician of the Year competition takes place on Thursday 19 March at Williamwood Parish Church starting at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased from the Performing Arts base or from any music teacher, priced at £4 for adults and £2 for pupils and concessions.  Please come along and support twelve of Williamwood’s finest musicians perform a wide range of instruments and repertoire.  The standard of performances this year is exceptionally high so purchase your tickets quickly to avoid disappointment.  More information can also be found on the following Flyer.

S5 Information Evening

DSCN2165On Tuesday 3 March Williamwood held an Information Evening for parents and guardians of current S4 pupils to give them details on the upcoming S5 options process. S3 Sports Achievement

CaraCongratulations to S3 pupil Cara who qualified for the beam, floor and vault apparatus finals and was 4th on the beam after competing in the Scottish Gymnastics Championships in Perth on February 21 and 22.  This is a fantastic achievement.  Well done Cara!

S1 Sport Achievement

WeChatImage635605816310917140Congratulations to S1 pupil Jennie who has been selected to represent Scotland at the Senior Schools’ International Table Tennis Championships which will take in June 2015 in Perth. This follows Jennie’s second place finishing in the Under 14 Girls at the Scottish Senior Schools Championships, which were held in February 2015 in Bathgate. Well Done Jennie!

Apprenticeship Vacancies

The school has been informed of a number of vacancies at the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Modern Apprenticeship Programme. The programme is looking for two administration assistants: one at band 2 level and based at Kirkintilloch with entry requirements of 3  National 4s (one must be English) or equivalent and another at band 3 level based at Dykebar Hospital with entry requirements of National 5 English (grades A-C) and 2 other National 4s or equivalent. The starting salaries for these apprenticeships are £12,197.50 (band 2 post) and £13,487 (band 3 post). Please note that these are two-year apprenticeships.
