Everything in the universe, including the screen that you are sitting in front of, the chair that you are sitting on, the paint on the doors, the fuels that keep you warm, the medicines that make you better and the batteries that power your technology, are all Chemistry in action.<\/p>\n<p>Chemistry is at the cutting edge of all the new materials that are being produced to make our lives easier, longer lasting and more comfortable. There is no change that occurs in our material universe which does not involve chemical processes. Everything is chemistry!<\/p>\n<p><strong> Departmental Aims :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>C<\/strong>ontribute to the overall school aims and values in terms of personal and social development of pupils<\/li>\n<li><strong>H<\/strong>elp pupils to develop skills and confidence in using their skills<\/li>\n<li><strong>E<\/strong>ncourage goo communication and relationships with pupils , staff and parents<\/li>\n<li><strong>M<\/strong>ake pupils aware of the contribution that chemistry makes to their everyday lives and to assist pupils to develop the ability to make informed comments and judgements regarding social and environmental issues<\/li>\n<li><strong>I<\/strong>nspire and motivate pupils to produce work of the highest quality<\/li>\n<li><strong>S<\/strong>hare ideas and learn from experience<\/li>\n<li><strong>T<\/strong>each effectively, creating optimum learning opportunities for all, extending the more able whilst supporting the less able<\/li>\n<li><strong>R<\/strong>espect and value all pupils equally regardless of ability<\/li>\n<li><strong>Y<\/strong>outh and experience \u2013 Pupils and staff working together with a clear focus on Learning and Teaching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cEvery aspect of the world today \u2013 even politics and international relations \u2013 is affected by chemistry.\u201d Professor Linus Pauling \u2013 double Nobel Laureate Chemistry is the study of all matter.
