The Personal Development Course aims to help learners become employable, contributing and independent members of society through the development of transferable life skills. Available at SCQF level 3, 4 and 5 the Course encourage pupils to build a range of personal, social and vocational skills such as evaluating, planning, reviewing, managing tasks and working with others.
Assessment
The Units are designed to allow pupils to improve their self reliance and self esteem by setting targets for the development of interpersonal skills while working in a group to plan and carry out a project. Observation checklists and other records of assessment will be maintained and kept up-to-date in order to track progress and to provide evidence for verification.

- Recognise and celebrate their achievements to develop their self esteem and confidence.
- Discuss their skills and qualities to help your child to identify their strengths and weaknesses.
- Support them to understand how to plan, monitor and evaluate and review a project.
- Discuss their role in the group work projects and their contribution to the local community.
- Share your ideas with your child for potential projects.
