Advanced Higher History

Pupils on the Advanced Higher History course visited Glasgow University library  to help prepare for their dissertation. Pupils had an opportunity to access historiography and a wide range of sources. Pupils are now looking forward to student life next year!

Samye Ling

RMPS pupils had the opportunity to visit Samye Ling Buddhist temple this week.  This visit allowed our young people to deepen their knowledge of RMPS in a Scottish context by seeing first hand how people put their beliefs into practice in today’s society.

Amnesty International

World Human Rights Day takes place on the 10th of December and we will be hosting an AmnesTea coffee morning on Friday the 13th in recognition of this event. Tickets will be charged at £1 and all proceeds will be donated to Amnesty International in support of LGBT rights around the world – particularly in Africa, where Amnesty is currently campaigning.

S4 Personal Development

Well done to Shelby, Morgan, Lucy, Lucia, Caitlin and Beth who have achieved a Saltire Award for their involvement in Mary’s Meals. The girls will be presented with their award at the Youth Achievement Awards ceremony to be held on Wednesday 13th November at Carmichael Hall.

The group are also taking part in the ‘Children in Need Go BearFaced’ . Going BearFaced is a simple way to raise money for BBC Children in Need by swapping your make-up for a Pudsey Pawprint. We are looking forward to the pictures.

Mini Trials

S5/6 pupils will have the opportunity to participate in the Mini Trials at Paisley Sheriff Court on Saturday 30th November. Any pupil who would like to participate should contact Mrs Johnston or Mr Thomson.

Mary’s Meals

S1 pupils are participating in the Mary’s Meals backpack project. The backpacks will be collected before the Christmas break. The pupils have organised a bake sale and a stall at the coffee morning in November to help raise funds. If you have any the items listed below please forward to Mrs Johnston.

S1 Holocaust testimony

S1 pupils are learning about Human Rights and the UNCRC. As part of the course S1 had the opportunity to meet Holocaust survivors, Mr and Mrs Wuga to learn about the personal experiences of Jewish people in concentration camps. By listening to their stories pupils were able to gain a greater understanding of the events that took place during the Holocaust and how people survived them.
