Woodfarm is continuing their journey towards achieving the Rights Respecting School Award Level 2. The school community places a real importance on developing and embedding a rights respecting ethos and we are committed to ensuring the whole school community continues to learn about the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Pupils are encouraged to become active citizens and learners by participating in campaigns. This year we are supporting Mary’s Meals and the Backpack Project.
The project aims to fill backpacks with basic educational materials to send to children receiving Mary’s Meals. Most of the children who benefit have suffered war, poverty, famine, or natural disaster. A simple backpack with educational materials can be a lifeline to these children as studies show that an education is the best way child can escape poverty in later life. You can support the charity by forwarding the items above to the Social Studies faculty.
