Parent Council

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we start the new school year I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Parent Council, to let you know a little about what we do, and the ways you can get involved.

As a Parent Council, our role is to represent the views of all parents and carers on educational matters that affect groups of children, year groups, or the whole school. We want to create an environment where all parents and carers know that their views matter, and where they feel confident and comfortable putting them forward.

The members of this year’s Parent Council are as follows:

P1 representative – Michelle Melvin

P2 representative – Neil Mowbray

P3 representative – Toni Leggatt

P4 representative – Jill Skelton

P5 representative – Jacqueline Chinchen

P6 representative – Claire McKellar

P7 representative – Isla Goldie

Treasurer – Rob Williams

Fundraising

We are currently looking for volunteers to get involved in our Fundraising Group. The way we raise money will probably be a little different this year, and if you have a great idea for a socially distanced fundraising event, we would love to hear from you. We need a minimum of 3 people to get our Fundraising Group up and running. If we can get enough people involved, hopefully volunteers would only need to organise one event in the school year, so please do get in touch if you would like to get involved.

If there are any issues that you would like the Parent Council to take forward for you, or if you would like to get involved in fundraising, please feel free to get in touch with me (via the school email address – schoolmail@uplawmoor.e- renfrew.sch.uk) or the Parent Council Member for your child’s year group.

Best wishes

Mary Ann Gorman
