FLU VACCINATION<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n
Given as a nasal (nose) spray, the flu vaccine is quick, easy and painless. A NHS<\/b> Consent form pack will be issued to your child this week in school. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n It\u2019s very important to complete, sign and return the form as soon as possible, even if you don\u2019t want your child to get vaccinated. Your child should bring the brown envelope containing the completed consent form and hand in to the school office or their Pastoral Support Teacher.<\/p>\n The vaccine is given once a year. Flu viruses are constantly changing, so a different vaccine has to be made every year to ensure the best protection against flu. The vaccination sessions will take place at school on Monday 10th<\/sup> November (S1 and S2) and Tuesday 11th<\/sup> November (S3 and S4) and Wednesday 12th<\/sup> November 2024 (S5 and S6). <\/b><\/p>\n Flu can be serious, even for healthy children. That\u2019s why NHS Scotland recommends the flu vaccine is offered to all young people in secondary school. Getting your child vaccinated can help prevent them from getting sick with flu and needing time off school this winter.<\/p>\n
