{"id":27947,"date":"2021-09-08T07:00:30","date_gmt":"2021-09-08T06:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/StNinians\/?p=27947"},"modified":"2021-09-07T16:51:43","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T15:51:43","slug":"wednesday-reflection-50","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/StNinians\/wednesday-reflection-50\/","title":{"rendered":"WEDNESDAY REFLECTION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Midweek Reflection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>8<sup>th <\/sup>September 2021<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today is the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lady.\u00a0 It\u2019s a good day to pray for the appointment of the next Archbishop of Glasgow as it was on that day in 2012 that Archbishop Tartaglia was translated from Paisley to Glasgow.\u00a0 The longer form of today\u2019s Gospel presents the genealogy of Jesus through Joseph to illustrate that he descended from David. The Son of David as he is frequently called in the New Testament.\u00a0 In doing so, as\u00a0 Bishop Barron, in one of his videos, demonstrates, quite a number of ne\u2019er-do-wells appear in the list; nevertheless, they are a people who never forgot their destiny.<\/p>\n<p>So, the bishop tells us, Jesus wanted them to be there.\u00a0 It was their longing, their dream, that a Son of David would lead them to the glory which they believed was theirs by right.\u00a0 But then the Gospel changes direction and we hear how Jesus came to be born\u2026.of Mary. \u00a0God chose to become involved in our lives through Christ Jesus, who entered our world through the life of Mary.\u00a0The Mother of Christ.\u00a0 The Mother of the Church.\u00a0 The Mother of Divine Grace.\u00a0 The Mother most pure.\u00a0 The Mother most chaste.\u00a0 The Mother inviolate.\u00a0 The Mother undefiled.\u00a0 The Mother immaculate.\u00a0 The Mother most amiable. The Mother most admirable.\u00a0 The Mother of good counsel.\u00a0 The Mother of our Creator.
