Scotland\u2019s Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) Ceremony 2021 will be like no other. For the first time in the history of HMD,\u00a0 a fully virtual ceremony is organised and we invite you to join thousands of Secondary School Pupils from Scotland (and Northern Ireland) to watch the specially commissioned ceremony.<\/p>\n
The ceremony will be premiered online at\u00a02pm on 27 January 2021 (UK Time)<\/strong>. You can watch the Ceremony on YouTube or Vimeo:<\/p>\n Please note: The ceremony recording will remain online and be available for later viewing after the initial premiere date.<\/p>\n The ceremony features testimonies from Holocaust survivor Mala Tribich, as well as the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of survivors from subsequent genocides in Darfur, Rwanda, Bosnia and Cambodia.\u00a0 Specially commissioned music, dedicated to the Roma and Sinti communities, will be played by young people from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Juniors) and Douglas Academy Pupils<\/p>\n There will also be a message from First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government, Aileen Campbell and Scotland’s own Rabbi Moshe Rubin will also play an important role in the ceremony.<\/p>\n We hope that you can join\u00a0 on 27th January at 2 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Scotland\u2019s Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) Ceremony 2021 will be like no other.
