Four S3 members of the St Ninian\u2019s Public Speaking and Debate Society (Ansa Dean, Mary Treese Biju, Natasha Cameron and Ruth Edgar) represented St. Ninian\u2019s in the competition.<br \/>\nThe competition required contestants to think deeply about the topic \u201cAgeism doesn\u2019t just affect the elderly\u201d, conduct research into the topic and develop a coherent line of argument. Contestants then had to present their argument clearly and passionately in front of three judges from the Procurator Fiscal Service.<br \/>\nAll teams performed incredibly well and received enthusiastic praise from both the judges and the audience.<br \/>\nThe event was an excellent opportunity for the young people to further develop their self-confidence and communication skills and respond to probing questions from fellow competitors and the judges.<br \/>\nCongratulations to the Kilmarnock Academy team who progressed into the next round. They were worthy winners and we wish them all the best for the next stage of the competition.
