{"id":22966,"date":"2019-05-14T11:31:15","date_gmt":"2019-05-14T10:31:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/StNinians\/?p=22966"},"modified":"2019-05-14T11:31:35","modified_gmt":"2019-05-14T10:31:35","slug":"s1-rapid-reponse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/StNinians\/s1-rapid-reponse\/","title":{"rendered":"S1 Rapid Response"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"St Ninian&#039;s High School - S1 Rapid Response\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Sa3285eWnp8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>On Friday 10 May a hurricane hit Haiti causing widespread devastation to the local infrastructure!!!!\u00a0 Don\u2019t worry the First Years took care of it with their Rapid Response!<\/p>\n<p>Rapid Response is a cross-curricular activity involving the entire S1 year group.\u00a0 It took place over\u00a0eight days\u00a0and culminated in an activity day on Friday 10 May,\u00a0where pupils were split into groups and set a series of challenges to complete.<\/p>\n<p>Pupils played the role of Rapid Response engineers who helped the people of Haiti to restore some of the basic elements including shelter, water and communications.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the tasks pupils learned about team work, emergency first aid, emergency water purification and emergency shelter construction.
