Following our pupils great success at Giffnock North\u2019s, \u201cTo the Pond and Beyond\u201d, 2.5K race at Rouken Glen Park on Thursday 7 June, representatives from Giffnock North visited our pupils yesterday to present them with a trophy. Great British Athlete Luke Traynor also spoke to our pupils and congratulated them on their excellent success.<\/p>\n
Our team was made up of the following pupils ranging from S2-S6 pupils.<\/p>\n
Hannah Ryding, Kate Paul, Nina Crossan, Hannah McEntegart, Leila Hickey-Fugaccia, Katie Neil, Niamh McWilliams, Aaron McGillivray, Michael Nolan, Rhona Mowat, Holly Edgar, Joseph McKay and Hugh Shiel.<\/p>\n
The Girls race was won by Hannah Ryding<\/strong> (St Ninian\u2019s) in a time of 09.06 minutes. In second place, also from St Ninians, was Kate Paul<\/strong> in 10.03.<\/p>\n The boy\u2019s race was won by Aaron McGillivray<\/strong> (St Ninian\u2019s) finishing first in a time of 09.28.<\/p>\n Both boys and Girls team prizes went to St Ninian\u2019s High School and we also won the \u00a3500 charity prize for the most finishers. Pupils have decided to donate the charity prize to Loaves and Fishes.<\/p>\n Loaves and Fishes started as a soup kitchen, feeding homeless people from the back of a van. They then moved indoors for the first time in 2003, they were able to provide greater comfort, warmth and a less hostile atmosphere for the people they help.
