Over a thousand students are invited to participate every year and last year over 350 schools competed.<\/p>\n<p>The regional rounds of the competition were held on Friday 12<sup>th<\/sup> January at Mearns Castle High School, and four members of the Public Speaking and Debate Society (<strong>Holly Edgar, Nina Millar, Andrew Ward and Euan Munro<\/strong>) participated. The pupils were presented with an excellent opportunity to develop their skills and confidence in public speaking, engage in thoughtful argumentation\u00a0and test their analytical problem solving.
